I am a recent graduate, with a 1st class Honours degree in Cyber Security and Forensics at Edinburgh Napier University. I’mfurther expanding my skill set by undertaking the MSc Advanced Security and Digital Forensicscoursewhich concludes in September 2020. I am a firm believer in that, if you love your job, you can perform to your highest ability. I am very passionate about what Ido and have a strong desireto succeed.
The university process has benefited me as a person and a potential employee in many ways. I have developed excellent time management and organisational skills havingto finely balancecoursework dates, exams and each individual module weekly work. Leaving things last minute has never been a trait of mine and ensuring sufficient time is allocated, was something I ensured took place. I have a thirst and willingness to learn and no task is something I will shy away from, regardless of the time it consumes.Adaptability is another quality I feel I can offer as when times were tough throughout stressful exam periods, as well as occasions in my life too, I can thrive under pressure. I have always had a very positive and optimistic mindset throughout my life and instead of allowing setbacks and negativity bring me down;I use it as a driving force to better myself and analyse what factors I can learn to implement from the experiences. From the age of 8 to 17 years old I was part of Ross County Football Club, so working, training, winning and losing as a team has been drilled into me my whole life. This allowed me to understand the fundamentals of what makes a team function well, and what can induce a divide. As team captain, this grew my confidence as a leader and instilled a mindset of ensuring things were done to the highest standard.I’m a very sporty person and play football throughout the year with clubs and as a hobby. I am a very keen enthusiast for the gym which helps me unload stress and is one of the best parts of my day, which helps get me out of bed for the 6am alarms. When I am not doing sports, Idevote a lot of my free time to learning new things, whether it be small projects, or expanding my cyber and programming knowledge using online courses
